Tubbing Bed Questions
Hey all, I am buillding a '67 shortbed and I am aiming for a pro-street look. I am aware that in order to achieve this I will need to tub the rear fender wells to fit some wider tires back there. My question is how??? What are some good ways or techniques to get this done. I searched on here looking for a thread to help me out and was unsuccessful finding what I wanted (might have been operator error). If you guys could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it!!

Re: Tubbing Bed Questions
i'd think you'd first b more concerned about building the rear frame half and suspension// once that is solved you can go about mounting the bed and clearancing the wheels

Re: Tubbing Bed Questions
Depends on the tire size your using. You can fit a lot of tire in there without frame mods.

Re: Tubbing Bed Questions
I'm not wanting to shorten the rearend or get to crazy with the modifications, just looking for a prostreet look. If I tub the fenderwells back even with the frame I should be able to fit a pretty good size tire in there right?

Re: Tubbing Bed Questions
My plan is to go with some weld draglite wheels. Would a 15x12 rear and a 15x6 front look alright? Also, what would be a good tire size for the rear? Any comments appreciated, Thanks

Re: Tubbing Bed Questions
Personally not a fan of skinnys up front... 7" or 8" would look better.
Depending on the backspace on the draglites youll prob have to narrow the rear. Or go with a wheel you can customize the backspace. I think a 12" rear will easily fit with tubs flush with the frame (someone else pls confirm).. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Tubbing Bed Questions
Looks like the DL's come in several backspace options, should be good to go!

Re: Tubbing Bed Questions
Fastwillie....What offset did you go with. I would like to get some 20x14 wheels but not if I have to narrow the frame. I don't mind narrowing the rear end or making wider tubs. Thanks
