Does anyone have info on how to modify the harness from a 1994 chevy caprice (police special) to work with this conversion? Any suggestions on a fuel tank that would allow me to use the pump from this car or another year truck that would fit (tank that has return line)? Last but not least how about an evaporator that would allow me to connect the components from the donor car (my truck is non AC now). Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Don't know if you knew this, but you can get the harness new from Painless wiring, that may take a lot of the hassle out of your work

Use a tankfrom an 87 truck. It will bolt right in, and has the baffles for the fuel injection. You should be able to use the Caprice sender and in tank fuel pump. I would agree with using the painless harness, as it will make your life a whole lot simpler.

Ask if Brad2 knows...he had an LT1 in his old truck

as far as the A/C, why not use a factory truck A/C case? You will have to add an extra hole on the firewall, but that should not be much trouble. Tha Caprice will have the compressor mounted low and on the right side. You may need to notch the crossmember for clearance on that side, and move the engine mount back as well, as the right engine bracket is set back on the LT1's about 1/2 inch or so.

I have had two trucks with Lt1's. My current one has a modified factory harness and the other had a Painless one. Pay the money and get your self an aftermarket harness. You'll be miles ahead and better off. I have had a fuel pump mounted on the frame but it was to noisey for me. You can get a sending unit for a 1987 truck and it will drop in. You have to get a higher pressure fuel pump but it all fits together. If you go that route make sure and put steel hose clamps on the line from the pump to the sending unit. Otherwise it will blow the hose off and you get to drop the tank again.
