Vent!
So I've got a brand new battery and a Brand new Alternator, and it still died coming up the hill from the river this morning. Had to call a guy I work with and get him to come pick me up in his F#$D. If it hadn't been for the levee, I could have just let it roll back down the hill into the river and been done with it.
I know I'm not the first to have a battery drain issue, but it still makes you want to beat the last straight, unrusted piece of sheet metal into little pieces with a sledge hammer. I even happen to have a sledge hammer riding around in the back of the truck right now. Wouldn't I be so much less frustrated if I just beat the crap out of it, then rolled it off into the river???!!!!

If you still have the OE regulator & stuff, ditch it all for a one-wire Delco 10si. End of trouble. Brian

It sounds to me like you either got a bad alternator, you have a bad connection, or something is not hooked up correctly. Time for the multi-meter

Did you replace the voltage regulator too or is it in your alternator?

Yeah, the voltage regulator is next to go. Probably should have done it before the Alt, but felt like the symptoms were leading me towards the alt. It doesn't help anything that every tool I own, and my Multi-meter are 2-1/2 hours away this week.

I also recentlly had the same problem with my burb, the battery was drining while I was driving with the headlights on.So I replaced the battery (it was weak anyway) and still the same problem, so asked my dad what he though. He told me to check the voltage regulator, went down to the local parts storesand walla problem solved for 15.00 bucks!

You can have my old voltage regulator. I now have an internally regulated alternator.

Thanks Shawn, but I put one on last night, and at least that problem is solved. I still have more issues than a weekly magazine, but the battery drain is solved.
