Question Bed interchange

I think I knoe the answer to this but will a bed from a 61 chevy fit on a 64 GMC ? Their both long wide beds. THANKS FOR ANY HELP MIKE.

Well, yes and no. The mounting holes on the bed cross sills on the '61 bed are in a wider side to side spacing than what the '64 GMC frame has. I have seen some guys add a piece of steel to the mounts on the frame to catch the wider bolt holes on the bed. You might be able to drill ned mounting holes in the bed floor and add a piece of ~1/8" steel to the bottom of the bed cross sills. Other than the misalignment of the mounting holes, they are the same.
