Windows not working after door swap
I have a 97 GMC 3500 4 door. I replaced the driver door yesterday with one off of a 95 1500 2 door. I replaced the wire harness in the door and kept mine with the wires to the 4 door window switch. Now none of the windows will work. I metered the fuse and it seems fine i also plugged in the 2 door switch to see if the 4 door switch was bad but it didnt work either. When i plugged in the connectors between the door and the cab i did notice the speaker popped a little. (The speaker also doesnt work now and im 80% sure it did before). Any other ideas?

Re: Windows not working after door swap
I've swapped doors on my ext.cab before n had a similar problem. My solution was the wires in the harness got cut open when pulling though the holes into the door. Was shorting out. Taped n shrink wrapped em n good as new!

Re: Windows not working after door swap
Essentially it was a shorting out wire. Took us a while to determine it because it was only short on the door was all together. But now everything seems like it's working
