got an hei needs some help lol

ive done this a lot on my newer trucks but this one is kicking my ass one wire direct from the battery and one from ignition right or is ther an easier way i know its simple i over analize stuff and second guess my self lol


i searched but i could not find my direct answers i have a 63 if that helps i got a 327 with camel hump heads

I just did this install on my 62, it went pretty well. I used a 12 guage wire from the original firewall connector, whick is linked to the fuse panal. I used a multi meter to make sure it got 12volts at all times. My truck originally had a ballast resistor, but some have a resistor wire, so make sure you don't use the original wire! I think you can run from either the battery or the ignition, I don't think you need both.... but this was my first install (BTW, this made such an improvment in driveability!!)

well i just found a little box that says ignition in the engine compartment it has a pink green and black wire going into it and it has a trigger like deal on it you can push in what the hell is that? ill put in the hei later today

That sounds good. I like finding spots that area little more inconspicuos the direct from the battery. I cut into a stock connector that hooked up to the firewall... not too bad looking.
