Wow!

I just stoped and got gas comming into work to day and fuel had gone up about 3cent from a few days ago so now it's @ 1.63$ for 87% well im not gonna complain too much now if fuel is really 4bux in AZ.

So how many gallons were lost?

If the pipeline was shutoff after it ruptured and no more fuel was lost then how can they justify a price increase?

And i bet it wont go back down for quite some time either.

The pipeline carry's 1/3 of all the gas, so they have to truck all the gas up from tuscan= more cost to ship. Thats how they are raising the price. Supply and demand. A 30min wait in line once you find a gas station that actually has gas is standerd. My parents are re-living the 70's

Have you checked lately? Premium, 92 octane in Portland is $2.05/gal at Chevron in SE Portland and 1.85 for regular 87 octane. On the other side of the west hills in Beaverton, regular is $1.95/gal! Your $1.95 in Lake Oswego is a bargain!

i have noticed that. i have to drive to north east portland every day for work, and the prices are atleast 10 cents higher (even at space age and astro). maybe its worth the trip to LO to get gas. maybe we could meet up some time.

The Great MIDWEST BLACKOUT

Gas in Michigan shot up about 10 cents more over night due to the "BLACKOUT" so they say! And a shortage because the refineries are switching production right now to heating oil, thus a shortage of gasoline. Sounds like a smoke and mirrors deal to me! Like they said on the Wizard of OZ "DO NOT LOOK BEHIND THE CURTAIN!" Our Attorney General claims he is looking into it! RIGHT! What makes it worse is the unfair double taxation (road tax + sales tax, plus sales tax on the total amount) we pay in this state on each gallon of gas and the SH!T roads we get to drive on. AAA says the price of a gallon is the highest right now its been in almost 2 years.

The gas problem here sucks.
Everyone is waiting in line for gas.
I go at night (10:00-11:00) and wait in line for 10-15 minutes.
When the station tanks start to get low they pump real slow (1 gallon every 2 minutes).

The lines are starting to get a little smaller, but its still nuts.
There are a few stations that are charging around $4.00 a gallon, but their lines are much shorter (you pay for the faster service). Most places are still around $2, but you will have to wait.

Ohh yeah siphon pumps are sold out all over town and people are getting their gas stolen where ever they stop

Time for a locking gas caps and anti siphon systems.

Yeah right !
You might all complain , we pay here in Europe 3,7$ for a gallon of 95 octane unleaded...

This is why most of the Belgian & Dutch "American cars lovers/daily drivers" now drive on LPG , a lot cheaper : 1,12 $ a gallon , a LPG installation costing for about 1000 à 2000 $

To be honest I never really look at gas prices.
I just go to Chevron almost all the time and pay what ever it is.
The truck seems to like the Chevron gas (maybe its the techron ).

What I do not like is the lines we have had here recently.
The lines are still around, but much much less now.
Things seem like they are getting back to normal.
Never really thought about how great it is to pull into a gas station and not have to wait in line. I will appreciate it a little more now.

I agree with you Eddie, I remember in 73 when I first got my drives license, that was back during the oil embargo, " a chance to jack up the prices". Most managers at stations were caring sidearms, kinda like the old west. Some old guy blewaway a teenager back then who was siphoning gas form his tank, sad to see that stuff happen. But it seems that nobdy siphons anymore, I heard that some daycare facilities vans parked side by side to avoid fule theft gas lines were cut and drained of 80 gallons of fuel. Oh by the way for everyone not in Phoenix, its pretty tough sitting waiting to fuel up when its a 104 out _ Gotta Love that heat!

Angry aaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrg!

gas was $1.43 a week ago, $1.51 yesterday and now it's $1.61-$1.75 where i am in maryland, and it wouldn't surprise me if it's over 2 bucks in some other places around here... good thing i get my raise next week... i will need it just to get to the office and back!

either way, people around here don't seem to complain about it much... 4 dollars is alot even if you don't want to wait, though... lucky i don't live in AZ... feel sorry for about that!

It went from $1.59 for 92 Octane up to $1.83 at the BP here in the Pittsburgh area over the past two weeks. It's not that big of an increase but it does add up when you're topping off a 36 gallon tank in the van and a 21 gallon in the truck.

I really do feel for you guys that have to spend $2.00 and up for 89 octane and those who have to wait in line for it.

upper 1.70-s in IL currently, i dont really care cuz i mainly ride my 80 GS450L bike anyways, $4.00 orless fill ups are great, i onlyput in 5 bucks at a timein any caror truck, ever since a few years ago when gas prices starting shooting back up, 95 cents a gallon prices seem like they only existed like the other day, its been years since now. if anyone doesnt like it then they need ot get a small caror a bike and quit complaining, doing that willalso cut away from oil companies profits
complaining accomplishes nothing
action will, however
action does not= continued complaints and driving of gas guzzlers, sell your SUV and get a bike :d you will be GLAD
