Re: Don't know about this one

I think its a sweet looking truck, but not for me. I really don't like the newer style beds on this year of truck.

I always liked the convertable trucks. I think they have a neat look all of thier own.

Definitely not my cup of tea, but I'm definitely digging the drive train!

Re: Don't know about this one

I'm sure it is a quality build and is a blast to cruise, but it's
a. Red
b. Chopped
c. Has a late model bed
d. Monochromatic

Definately in the "pass" category for me.

Re: Don't know about this one

It's not really my cup O tea either! I don't understand why they put all that money in the motor and kept the stock exhaust manifolds, the cam, carb, manifold etc. is pretty much useless!

Does anyone else find it a little odd that the truck is in a shop but no information is listed about the shop?

?

Its an RV cam, the manifold is dual plane and the carb has an electric choke on it --- that motor was built for cruisin' not racing (although the carb is a double pumper, which is a somewhat poor choice), so maybe the guy just doesn't like messing with header gaskets all the time

I'm just a neophyte here; but that didn't look like a restoration to me, as the ad had stated.

How did it get 5 lug drums on the front? I thought 5 lugs were disks on these trucks?

Look like good build quality to me. But that being said i never liked late model beds on old trucks..... and I'm not sure if I'm fond of the convertible idea.

Re: Don't know about this one

There was a thread on here last month about truck trends from the '80s --or something like that. This one has most of them covered!

Pro Street, Ratical top, tweed, monochromatic, "Pro Street" on the valve covers(as if you couldnt tell from the Mickeys on the back)

Its kind of cheesy, but i bet would be a fun ride -- the ugly frame needs to be re-done in black though(unless the buyer likes stock components that have been spray-bombed), and the poser rear suspension needs to be re-thought. Data plate was masked poorly.

All that aside --- that looks like a fun late spring cruiser with the top off, but for the kind of coin the owner probably wants - i'll take a 2wd Blazer please

Re: Don't know about this one

Haha, ya I started that thread on trends. What's funny is I do not like late model beds on these trucks, I HATE chopped tops (unless it's VERY subtle) and I'm not a fan of the convertible truck. Having said that... I kinda like the way they did the exterior. The lines actually flow well and aren't crazy out of proportion. The interior is nice, too. BUT, I really don't like the monochromatic look on this truck. Needs some more chrome IMO to "break it up" a bit. As Houpphotography said, I don't get the exhaust manifolds either (one of the first things I noticed!)
And Houp... that "shop" has been discussed here in the past. It's not a shop, but a used car dealership that specializes in classic rides. But, if you look in the other threads, some questions have been raised about the quality of most of their rides and the $$....

Re: Don't know about this one

Put the original bed back on it and it would be real nice. I think I would fab the bed into the cab and make it a "Unibody" convertable, that would look better.

Re: Don't know about this one

I'm wondering about those rivets on the VIN plate. It could be a chop shop special. It doesn't look like they removed it for paint.

Re: Don't know about this one

Are those fuel tanks on either side of the driveshaft? If they are, that's definitly a unique approach. I also noticed factory A/C controls but no A/C. I have to admit that this truck has one of the better convertible conversions I've seen. Looks like they used a blazer half top as well as a blazer windshield frame.

I don't know guys, I think with a brake/wheel upgrade it's going to be a very cruiseable pickup! Picture it dropped a bit with some 20" Torque Thrust. I'd probably ditch the roll pans and add some chrome bumpers as well. I'm not a big fan of the late model beds but if the rear step was to be shaved....that would help a lot!

So my vote is, if the price was right.....Yep, I'd drive it!

Re: Don't know about this one

If anyone is seriously interested in this truck, just let me know and I will check it out for you as the place is near my house. They generally sell "polished turds" as See Ten mentioned and pray on the unknowing that watched Barrett Jackson and thinking this is the same type of car and is worth way more than they are asking for it.
