1967 C50 pickup - finally starting to paint

It has been a long road for my 67 C50 but finally getting paint on the primer.
Started out as a farm flat bed, shorted the frame and added a 92 TopKick rear frame from cab back to get the 10 lug axle. Freightliner front axle gave me huge 4 wheel disk brakes. Super singles in the rear are covered by C60 front fenders flipped L side on R rear...
Double din now in the dash along with some AC vents, I deleted the dash pad also
Small block is gone and an old Detroit Diesel is going in.
Firewall has been smoothed out and the firewall gutter cut off.
The fuel fill is in the standard place but the hose goes through the cab and through the floor into a tank
All the work and painting is done by me outside under a canopy in sunny Florida

I like it.
I have always liked those running boards
on the big trucks.

Doors and Engine / Trans are in! Welded in side mounts since the Detroit does not have front mounts like the small block did. Wiring is next for the engine and cab.

Re: 1967 C50 pickup - finally starting to paint

Looking good! Did you use an aftermarket firewall to shave all the holes/creases? Did you re-vulcanize your body mounts or use a different trucks rubber? It looks really clean!

Re: 1967 C50 pickup - finally starting to paint

Did the firewall myself, just cut out metal to cover the old firewall. Cut off the gutter and filled in the top with a strip of 1.25" metal to fill the gap a long the top and the blower motor area. The body mounts were in good condition so I left them alone.

Dang, it's been so long since I replaced the TO bearing in my old C-50, I don't remember much what it looked like except it was Big.
