Wheel Identification??? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

So, I've been searchin high and low to figure out where these wheels came from. Unfortunately I don't have any pics of them, just some that look similar.

These were on a 67-72 truck at the local bone yard (don't know what year, I'm not good at identifying them). Anyhow, they have a pretty good deal on used wheels, just don't know if there worth the trouble. They look like original equipment, but i can't find any pics of old chevy wheels. Anyhow, does anyone know if these old trucks came with wheels like em? Or are they aftermarket?

Yeah, I know those are keys. I was just wonderin if chevy offered some like that back in the day, or are these probably cragars? There werent any center caps...

Might look good cleaned up, but prolly not on my '81 so i'm not sure if I want to take the time to get em...

im almost positive that keystones or cragars never came factory, i know that my grandpa bought a 71 pontiac lemans that had dealer instaled cragars but they were never a factory rim that im aware of, if its a pretty nice set for the money like rechroming and new center caps id snatch them up cause even if you dont use them yourself someone out there will buy them from you, in era specific car restoration original keystones and cragars sell for pretty good money

No wheels ever came on any of these trucks but solid disc-type steel wheels that were the industry standard.The type of wheel either full wheelcovers or dog dish/poverty caps snap onto.Back then everything came with some sort of hub cap/wheelcover,except pre-69 K/models which just didn`t get caps/covers because of the protruding front hub.

Definately after market Keystones... Had them on a Chevelle... IMO the best after market wheel Great look..

keystone classics have been around for a long time, but went unnoticed through the 90's. The classics are there own design, and was never immitated untill recently.

Those were called Keystone "Klassic" wheels. Keystone Raiders were the Crager SS clones...(to be exact)

I'm old enough to remember that they were called Keystone Kustomags, back in the day. The reference to them being called Klassic, today, is due to their prominance back in the '60's.....like '66 and later. They were flashy back then, especially in comparison to American Racing, Mickey Thompson, E/T and Ansen offerings, which didn't have the chrome plating that the Keystones had.

To be honest, I didn't care for them then, and they don't really melt my butter now.

I guess that's the reason that so many styles have be created and some have evolved. But, the style you asked about is over 40 years old!

haven't seen may trucks with them though.

Back then it was Keysones or Cragars for flash.I always liked Cragar(S/S)s better.They were more "Go".and the Keystones were more "Show".

I was a poor boy so when I bought my first car, 1966 Mustang, (for $725.00 those were the days!) it had Keystone Classics on it....bonus points!
