Have you replaced your window regulator rollers
When a plastic roller cracks, are they replaceable? The roller assembly looks pressed or riveted on. How are replacement rollers installed, if available?

Re: Have you replaced your window regulator rollers
I've seen the rollers that are available. But thought, how in the hell do you install them? Maybe they are heated up to a point that you can push them over the rivet. I have one that is cracked and would like to replace also.
Hope someone can chime in on this....

Re: Have you replaced your window regulator rollers
I haven't done this with a C10 so I'm not sure how the rollers are on there or how they can retro fitted, but if you get one off, go to home depot and look at replacement shower door rollers, 99% of the time you can find the same size for couple of bucks.

Re: Have you replaced your window regulator rollers
I have done some R&D with the kit that ECE sells for replacing them. It comes with the new rollers, new rivits and a (punch tool I think) but I was not very happy with the kit. I have givin my findings to Terry at ECE and he was going to check into some other items that would make it a better way to go. What I would do is just spend teh extra few bucks and buy new regulators. Even if you figure in $10 bucks an hour for your time it still will be cheaper to buy new ones plus this way the spring and pivit joint are also new and work like butter. I rebuilt the ones in Low Buck and still ended up buying new ones when it was all said and done. Just my $.02

Re: Have you replaced your window regulator rollers
I just got a box of new rollers w/rivets when I replaced mine a couple of years ago. They were called 'window regulator rivet and one piece roller' all GM cars 57-66. No brand name or dealer name on the box.

Re: Have you replaced your window regulator rollers
I've seen them in either LMC or ChevyDuty catalogs-not sure how they are replaced though.
