Unhappy Front tires ?

I have a 72 c20 4x4 and I have noticed that the front tires stick out 2" further on each side than the rear. Is this normal for this rear truck and how do I correct it. Dana 44 and Eaton ho72. Can someone help me out, I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Its normal. My 72 SWB 4x4 does the same thing. I think it has to do with the steering...needed a little more clearance to turn the wheels.

It also helps with the tracking of the tires in a turn.

I know you can put spacers in there. They put a longer axle in the superburb. A 14 bolt out of a van is 3" longer. I wish i could get 3" that easy.

or you could run two sets of wheels with different backspacings, but then you wont be able to rotate the tires front to back, only left to right.

Yes, they make Aluminum Spacers ($150/each) to put on each rear wheel, I have them on my Blazer. It makes it so that all 4 wheels are the same Legth out of the Fenders.

It always bugged me how the Front Stuck out further then the Rear. Expensive but best way to fix the problem.

Ok, that is what I am going to do. I called my dad out in Ca, and he said he can make them for me at his machine shop. I would rather have the same size rims 0n all fours so spacers will be really good.

on 73-87s the rear axle is 3" shorter than front, so 1.5" spacers should make it even.

Does any body make flared fender pieces for 72 4x4's that would look good. If all four tires are out than I will have rocks and mud hitting the body.

I don't think I have ever hear or seen "Fender Flare" and "Look Good" in the same sentence!
