Oh no... not again!

Well, it appears that I'll be moving from Arooooostook County, Maine to Eden Prairie, Minnesota this month. I've just accepted a new job there and I'm due to start on (or about) the 19th of this month. Packing, moving, finding a new home... ugh!

It looks like I'm going to end up driving my old 68 the 1,700 miles to its new home. I'm pretty sure it's up to the task, but it'll be slow and expensive to say the least. Since I can't run my studded snow tires in Minnesota, I'm hoping some considerably larger tires (31X10.5X15) will help a bit on the mileage (3.73 gears).

Anybody in the area need a cheap set of studded Coopers P225/75/15 tires? Anybody between here and there got a good set of 31X10.5X15 tires they want to sell?

In addition, if it does turn out I've got to make the trip in the old truck, I'll make the offer to the board members to transport parts or goods between here and there (Maine, Boston, Buffalo, Cleveland, Toledo, Madison, Minneapolis) for anyone that could help finance the trip a little. If all goes well, I'd be leaving sometime around the 15th and trying to get to Minnesota on the 18th.

Any board members in Minnesota?

There's a few MN board members: Davy, Leinie, Sakohntr, Class of 69, Da Burb, and a few others. Glad to hear about the new job! I hope it's a step up for ya!

Keep us posted on the move - Maybe once you get settled, we'll have a house warming party Chevy truck style!

Good luck, and Congrats!

Paul

Hi

Glad to hear you are coming this way. I hope the move goes well for you.

Count me in for a house warming party!!! I want to meet some board members, and am only 30 miles from Minnesota - 4 hrs from Mnpls.

We could throw a heck of a bash, and fill the driveway with chevy trucks.

Shawn

As one who has lived half his life in Maine and half his life in the upper midwest, all I have to say is....

ARE YOU NUTS???????

Good luck with your move. At least you'll find old trucks and their parts more plentiful and rust-free here.

Oh, and if you need and help translating from Down-east talk to Minnesotan-Norwegian Midwest talk I can help.

I'm a little out of your way, but if you want a warm meal (for free) and a break from the road, I am just a little south of your route. (Nice couch to crash on too if need be...again, all free)

wider tires like that are going to be poo in the snow, I tried runing31/10.5's on my ford for the winter and ended buying some Hankook dynamic radials 235's
