Original wheels?

Anyone have a picture of the original wheels that came on a 72 Cheyenne? I am about to start my rebuild on my dads truck and wanted it to look original.

Thanks,

Wilson

And don't forget these original issued rims are 16.5 X 6 rims!
Most, along with myself, choose to use the 16 X 6 later rims as tires are a challenge to find ....

Here's a NICE 72 K20 on ebay with stock rims and hubcaps. Split rims were standard issue for farm trucks back then, but everyone switches over to solid rims now which is a good idea.

Npwadays wheels vary as much as emblems.Back then a wheel was a wheel,a headlight was a headlight(will that be single or dual, sir?).I went to go get 14" tires for my son`s Biscayne a few years ago.Had to be special ordered.I don`t think we`re in Kansas anymore,Toto.

I am still running 9.50x16.5 "D" ply Bias on 16.5x6.75 rims(as in the above pic). I will probably go to 16x6 rims with a 245x or a 265x tire next change. I don't carry as much as I use to and radials will give a smoother ride and better gas mileage. Some of the old 16.5 rims had a problem with radials, They would split the rims at the beads because the radial tire would flex to much and fatigue the beads.

dwaite72lnghrn:

What brand of lug tire is that?
Size?
Did you get them recently?

I would like to find the old Bias ply Lug tire like that for my K20.

The back tires are "Specialty tires of America" "Super Traxion". The front are Kelly highway. I bought them about 5 years back from a local guy. I think they still sell them.
