How Much for a 700R rebuild ?

I called a few places today and they want 1200 minumum CDN. That includes new clutches, kevear band, stage 2 shift kit 2200-2800 stall and a corvette servo. He said that it will hold up to 350 Hp easily. There was some other stuff there too but I forget. What should a rebuild cost ? and is that in and around what it is worth ? What parts should I make sure I get installed ? I was not expecting to have the tranny cost that much It will really set me back with my money schedule.

Thanks for any help.

A well built 700 with proper mods for lasting behind a strong engine runs about 800-1100 here

I have a 700R4 in my truck. I bought it from Bowtie Overdrives. Check out this link: http://700r4.com/trans/levels.html

Their street level is $866 and the Level 2 is $1020. I have the Level 3 in my truck and have never had any problems. I also got their HD 2200 stall converter for $154.

If you read the site you will see that they do everything possible to these trannys. These are not just rebuilt, they are built. They also have a 1 year warranty and don't have a core charge.

Oh yeah, these are in US$.

Hope this helps.

Thanks I feel a bit better now. It's just alot more than I had ever though it would cost. I guess that is the price I have to pay.

Later Mario
