Re: 1968 cowl hood who has the best fitting ones?

I'm not sure there is a good answer to your question...

I have no intentions of bashing any manufacturer, But!..

I swapped some parts to a member here, couple years back. He is building an awesome 67 step side. He bought a cowl induction like you are asking about. THe one he bought was NOT close to fitting correctly, at all!! He massaged it. A LOT!, still not worth a hoot.

I swapped him 2 of my 67/68 stock hoods, he was thrilled. 67/68 hoods are obviously only a 2 year deal. I was glad to pass them on.

Re: 1968 cowl hood who has the best fitting ones?

I'm going to state the best fitting one would be a stock hood that had a cowl scoop fitted to it. After seeing the aftermarket one that was on my Burban when I bought it I believe it would be less work to convert a stock hood over fixing the aftermarket one.

I'm guessing the reason the prices are all over the place is now the word is out about the fit some folks are trying to unload their stock at a loss.

Just my opinion which along with a couple sawbucks will get you a steaming hot cup of Joe just about anywhere!

According to GMCPaul, they all suck (unless they’ve gotten better recently?)
