Mod the core support

I know someone has modded their core support to use the V8 Radiator in a 6 cyl truck.I would like to see pics since I'm looking to do this without it looking hacked. Can anyone post a pic or thread?

Re: Mod the core support

Deland...I think you have to remove the bottom radiator brackets and rubber bushings and replace w/ 4 core one's....then get some 4-core top rad brackets and rubber bushings and you're in business...I'm sure if I've made this too simple or just completely don't know what the heck I'm talking about, someone who knows will chime in

Thats all we did on my core support when we changed over the 292 to a 350 and went to a four core radiator

Re: Mod the core support

If you choose a 2 or 3 core V8 radiator, there are no parts to buy. Just move the lower saddle over to the other hole and install the upper holddowns on the outer set of holes.

^^^
X 2. I did that same thing. It was a little bit of a PITA to get those lower supports out without destroying them, but it wasn't too bad

Re: Mod the core support

Deland,
Come over and help me swap in my TH400 and you can see mine - 4 core in for now with the 250, radiator already set up for the auto too. pretty easy - just never knew the pass side lower could/needed to be moved over.

Re: Mod the core support

Ok guy's Once I read what You have posted,I went and looked and discovered things were still not lining up.But after a minute I realized that they weren't lining up in my head. The radiator moves to the pass side.I was thinking it should be centered(1 in to each side for the 2 in wider rad). Now it'a a simple task of getting a day when it's not crap for weather and I'm not at work til dark.I already had a 4 row rad and the brackets.I just need 30 min or so to modify and bolyt on the lower bracket and install the rad.
Do ya think a 4 row is a bit overkill for a 250??? lol
