yellow or blue hubcaps

Is there a size difference between the yellow bowtie and the blue bowtie hubcaps, I am looking for a set for my 1/2 ton and saw there was some differences between 1/2 and 3/4 ton and I am not sure how to tell them apart.

Re: yellow or blue hubcaps

1/2 ton measure around 10.5" in diameter. 3/4 ton caps measure around 12" in diameter. Blue bowtie is "correct" for 69-72. Yellow bowtie is "correct" for 73-up.

Re: yellow or blue hubcaps

Ledd is correct, but another thing to consider is that some of the older model caps POP out in the center, where the newer yellow ones are recessed. I think Chevy realized later on that the ones that popped out would get ground down and the paint would really wear off, so they recessed them. I've got the recessed ones on my '69, but painted the Bowties blue to better match the vintage. Best of both worlds

Edit. Then again, I have a 3/4 ton. Not sure if the 1/2 are concave or convex

Re: yellow or blue hubcaps

The one I have was gold so its a 73 and up 1/2 ton. It appears to be chromed aluminum, are the 69-72 made of the same material and finish?
Thanks for the replies

Re: yellow or blue hubcaps

69-72 are chrome over brass and split easy. 73-up are stainless steel and more durable.
