which new fuel tank for my 72 c 10

I have had so many problems related to rust in my fuel tank that I have decided to get a new tank.

It seems there are two different tanks that are for sale.

I do I determine which one is correct for my 72 c 10 with a 307 2 bbl.

thank you,

I had my original tank "renewed." Local radiator shop boiled it out, cut holes in the sides, sandblasted out the rust, welded up the holes, coated the insides, and certified their work. I spray painted the outside hammered silver.

Re: which new fuel tank for my 72 c 10

all interesting and good ideas but I want a new standard factory style reproduction tank and sender/fuel pick up.

It seems vendors sell two different tanks for the 72's.

how do I determine which of the factory reproduction tanks are correct for my truck?

not going to reline or re seal the old one. i want a new repro one as my truck is all origonal.

so which one and how do I determine which one I should buy.

what is EEC? How do I know what that is and do I have it(them)?

Mike,
Go get the spectra brand from rock auto if you want a factory tank. It is a quality brand. 72 should be EEC. Check for the vent line on the passenger side that goes up inside the cab. If you get a new sending unit use my jeep float mod and you will never have float issues.
