Question what to offer 4 this ??

I found this blazer for sale. The guy wants $5500.00 for it. But there are some problums with it. I personally don't think it is worth the price he is asking but, I might be wrong.

Problums noticed, Minor rust on the driver and pass side floor, hole in the top from a skylight ( open hole ) rear seat is tore up, and has newer style seats in it, like out of an 80's model truck. did not look at the engine, but looked under there was one in there. :p The fuel filler neck on the blazer was on the driver side? I think it was but there is a hole that was bondo'ed back were the fuel filler should be, and on the pass side there is the fuel filler. I have no ideas about that. The floor in the back of the blazer has some sufface rust. I was looking for some advice on what I should offer for this blazer. Thanks Landon

oh ya the body is a 6-7 from 1 to 10. pritty decent.

My guess is $3,000-$3,500, but probably closer to the $3,000. A clean body is a big selling point. Rust on the floors, bondo being evident at a quick glance and a pretty much worthless top unless you did a sunroof are all negatives. The bondo would scare me cause if you saw just a little, there's gotta be more hiding in there somewhere. Also, you've never heard it run. Could puke oil or puff blue, knock, have valve train issues, etc. My estimate is assuming drive train is all tight. IMP definitely not $5,500.

Landon-
I have a real original 1970 blazer and mine had the same thing witht the fuel filler. I was wondering the same thing about it. Mine wasn't bondo, but a plate was welded over the hole. I am not sure what that hole was for, looked like a dual tanks deal, but my blazer didn't come with dual tanks...I'm not sure if any of them did. I tried to find a picture of it, but couldn't. My blazer is just finished being painted---home any day...although I have been hearing that since the 14th of July! Don't know if this was any help.
Also I paid $5000.00 for mine and it sounds like the body was in the same shape as yours, but mine had a GM motor and rebuilt tranny that both only had 500 miles on them, It runs PERFECT. So I would say if that blazer doesn't run perfect then it is only worth about 3000 to 3500- especially with the top cut up because those tops are hard to find in good shape.

The fuel cap should be on the drivers side. They might have replaced the tank and relocated the filler to accomodate.
