Going hoodless.....(who's done it?)
I am! I was driving home from school last night and noticed the driver rear corner of the hood sticking up quite a bit! Well damn it if it didn tear the bolt and welded nut right out of the hood itself!!
I had a ratchet strap handy and ghetto rigged it to get the rest of the way home. Anyhow after some internet searches and procrastination I called the local Highway patrol office and got a clarification about running hoodless! Amazingly it is "still" LEGAL to do so. Off with the busted hood and rusted hinges. Should be interesting to see how many looks I get tonight. She is my daily driver Sorry to make it a long story. Anyhow post up some pics so I dont feel like the only guy doing it.

It's a good idea to take a peek at your hood where it bolts to the hinges. 40 years of opening and closing can take it's toll. I had mine tear a little there, ended up be able to weld it up good as new.

Yeah...it was its time to break i guess. I've been meaning to lube those hinges.

At least it'll give you a strong motivation to clean up or detail the underhood. Can't see what condition its in now but kinda looks clean already.

Re: Going hoodless.....(who's done it?)
When I was younger I was 'redoing' a 72 LWB while it was my daily driver.
I ran without a front bumper (2x6 instead) grille or hood for awhile. Then bedless for awhile...hard to get going in the rain. I think once I didn't have a driver side fender on at one point.

Hezie, you don't need a special reason to post that vid. You just needed to post it!!
Are you coming to The Shades next weekend? If so, we need to swap cell #'s and get in touch.

Re: Going hoodless.....(who's done it?)
I always run around for a week or so with no hood after I put a new engine in... Then everybody can see what I did... Just keep an eye on your radiator hoses, i had an upper blow one time with no hood and I had to trailer it home cuz I couldn't see out the windshield or get it clean and dang there was a huge mess everywhere haha.
