Re: Anybody using Flat Out Engineering

Hello:
I am using Flatout's installation kit. I recently finished installing all the C4 components. The donor car was an 1985.
Flatout made simpler but it is still lots of work. I am now in the process of installing the motor and tranny.
Are you using Flatout's parts? Do you have any pictures of your project?

Let me know if I can help you with anything,

Raul

My project is at http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2330005

Re: Anybody using Flat Out Engineering

No, I am building another 53 Chevy and I am researching IFS kits and I looked at Flat Out parts and just wondering about how they stacked up with Mll parts. Maybe someone will respond with some real life miles on a Flat Out parts!
I am thinking that the geometry of there kits vs. Heits or TCI or some of the other folks out there should be the same ??? if all the kits used the same coilover shocks!!
The crossmember for the front end is home made with Mll stock parts and chevy big brakes with the most important part BILSTINE shocks. No rear crossmember as I am running a cast bellhousing with a Tremec TKO 600 5 speed. Motor mounts were fabed from 2" strap with stock rubber mounts. I had the Mll parts on the truck for 15 yrs before everything wore out and started leaking which prompted a total rebuild of the truck
and now I have over 8000 fun filled miles and smiles!!!

Re: Anybody using Flat Out Engineering

Anyone using their rear kit?

Progressive it telling me I need to step in the truck frame to fit the vette suspension since the truck frame is too wide.

Flat Out's kit fits right on with no frame mods.

Dont get it???

I know what you mean duwem, I'm using progressives front kit. I wanted to use their rear set but it cost more that I wanted to spend. And flat out wouls have the frame higher than I wanted. So I'm notching the frame so to speak. Did this today.
