rear end suggestion
Can you guys suggest a rear axle that would work in my 59 GMC Suburban? I measured the original axle and from backing plate to backing plate it is 55"...I want to stay the same width and i am also looking to leave it 6 lug. What do you guys suggest? Thanks in advance for your help.

68-70 Chevy GMC 1/2 ton. Seems like the 71 up is wider and 5 lug and the 67 back is a weaker choice. Always measure rear end from the wheel mounting surface, that is the dimension that matters, Backing plate to backing plate will change with brake shoe width ie the same rear end with two inch wide shoe will be wider backing plate to backing plate than the same rear end with three inch wide shoes, but the mounting flange dimensions do not change.
