BB alternator conversion to CS or SI type

Has anyone done this conversion on a BB and know of any install or conversion problems that might need to be straightened out by using one of them?

Other than that, if you found a better alternator conversion, I'ld be interested in knowing what you did and why

Got any pictures?

Re: BB alternator conversion to CS or SI type

I've done it and it's VERY easy! I will look to see if I still have the pics. Search the froums as it seems I have posted how to before. I will get into my notes today and get it for you. Also check-out krue's FAQ,it's in there.
Good luck......It's VERY EASY!

Re: BB alternator conversion to CS or SI type

AAW sells a kit to do this for less than $20, and comes with all the connectors. I try to keep them in stock but out at the moment. I am having to drop ship one today.

Re: BB alternator conversion to CS or SI type

These guys have some good articles on three-wire externally-regulated alternator conversions:

http://www.madelectrical.com/electri...elcoremy.shtml
http://www.madelectrical.com/electri...hreewire.shtml

I've done this conversion on two 1968 Pontiacs. It's a simple conversion that yields noticeably better performance. I recommend it.

These just plug into your stock harness.
I can ship you one for $25 and PayPal is OK..............
and if you add $10 I will include a headlight buzzer.
