Re: drive shaft help

I have a LWB 2wd with auto and a two piece drive shaft. My carrier bearing has one leg with two bolts in-line with the shaft. I've heard of some having a "pillow block" style where the bolts are outboard of the shaft. That would probably be a much stronger item in a 4x4. If you could get a picture of the underside that could help.

Re: drive shaft help

I think all the 4x4s had a one piece driveshaft.

Re: drive shaft help

The older 4wd long beds had the ones with a carrier bearing..or atleast some do.My 69 4wd does and it was all original when I got it.The 70-72s I've seen had a one piece, but maybe because they switched to the NP205 t-case,dont know..
