3/4 husky 350

Not sure if these were some sort of NW Edition truck or what. I don't remember seeing one posted before. I ran across this one today and the sticker was in nice shape so I snapped a shot.

MORE INFO ADDED ... Looks like it was a dealer promo item. Go to end of this thread

Nice custom camper but that sticker looks like an add on to me. The logo elements would lead me to think a proud owwner dreamed that up;

I didn't know Husqvarna made engines that big.

Hey, I have a Husqvarna 350 with a 20" bar. Great little saw, but it doesn't have a bowtie logo or 3/4 on it anywhere.

Re: 3/4 husky 350

Ive seen these on many many trucks here in the NW since back when they were new. You dont see them too often any more though that arent beat up. Kinda like those optional stickers that went down the entire side of our trucks.

Maybe it was one local dealer that put them on.

Re: 3/4 husky 350

Ok,seriously,I believe you had it right. It's either a regional or even a dealer specific promotion. I guess a dealer could create their own package of options and make stickers. Back in the '80s there were burgundy Ford trucks with gold stripes (Redskin colors),gold center wheels, and John Riggins' signature on the bedside.I'm pretty sure those weren't sold in Dallas

Re: 3/4 husky 350

Over here on the west side of the mountains its usually considered Husky country because of the University of Washington Huskies ... so maybe it had something to do with that.

He had a for sale sign in the window. I could stop back by and give him a call I guess and see if he has an idea of why it was there.

I try not to stop in and look at trucks too closely now though, because Ive finally thinned my heard down to my panel (and a couple of stripped parts trucks) and I dont want to be tempted to drag anything else home =)

Re: 3/4 husky 350

That sticker sure looks period correct. What are the little rectangles on either side? If it was a UW thing I'd think there should be some 'dawg' purple somewhere on it. Thanks for sharing it.

Thinking that you are seeing the "3/4" and the "350" as squares in a heavily stylized font.

Re: 3/4 husky 350

Pretty cool little ditty on special promo from back then, regardless, whatever the actual story is. I think they probably just meant "Husky" as "stout" or "beefy" to promote the 3/4t,but who knows. They probably figured it wouldn't hurt to have it be in Husky Country either. Maybe a bit of both and it just seemed to fit. Kinda like if around here they made a Terrapin 250 here in Maryland

Sorry, There is too much that does not ring true. The truck has Chevrolet "Custom 20" badges and 71-72 front end (two headlamp).
If these have been changed it is not "all original". A 350/300hp engine really doesn't work either. The L47 400 was 210hp net and the LS9 350 was 175hp net. Still sounds to me like a truck with a sticker. It may very well be a HD Custom Camper with max springs but only a SPID and a door plate will tell us if this is in fact a non RPO special. But if the truck was dealer or regionally modified post-production then it could be claimed to be anything except factory. If there is a Husky "special package" I would be very interested in specifics. It would make a cool tie in with my huskies.

That is a nice truck! I think what SSTim is saying is that this truck did not leave the GM factory with the Husky sticker on it. It was more than likely added on by the dealer that sold the truck. In that sense, yes, it is original to the truck...but it was not put there originally by the factory.

Re: 3/4 husky 350

I would love to see more pics, as I can see an egg crate grill from the side profile and not the GMC cross bars, but I could be wrong. That and GMC grills and trim don't fit on 69-72 Chevy hoods and fenders.

And rare is relative, there are plenty of options with less than 2800 made. Just look at the K20 Panels and Burbs.
