I need a clutch, some help here

I need to get a new clutch for my SM465 on my '72 4x4 and I am not sure what route to go. Do i get the 11" or 12" and do I step up to something like a Centerforce? I don't have the money to buy an amazing clutch but I want the best bang for the buck. I don't want to have to replace it all the time either. Also, where is the best place to go to get it? Thanks guys.

I just did a stick conversion on the longhorn & used a Centerforce dual friction clutch set. They are more money, but a nice setup.....I tend to use em hard, & figure by the time i replace 2 stock setups I could spend a little more the 1st time. The clutch ,press plate, & throwout bearing ran about $300 through Jegs for the 11". Money well spent IMO, the diaphragm plate has a nice feel(not too stiff), but has the weights to add clamping pressure. I think you will find that most of the perf clutch sets will be 11". if you run the stock setup, new 3 pcs sets run about $150.......I would go 12" if you use the stock setup. Good luck, crazyL

Thanks Crazy L,

I am evaluating my money situation right now to determine what I will get. I'm leaning towards the stock one and seeing how long that takes to burn up under my led foot and then go from there.

Does anyone else have some input? I'm sure someone else out there is running something other than an automatic tranny
