Please someone!! 5 x 4 3/4 bolt pattern rotors????

Need any help I can get. Does anyone make or can I redrill rotors to 5 on 4 3/4 bolt pattern? This is for my 71 c10 2wd. I known I can buy 68-70 drum spindles then buy a drum to disc conversion that's 5 on 4 3/4 but don't want to go that route $$$. Thanks.

I'm sure you can find them. A good machine shop sould be able to weld the 5x5 holes up and redrill the 5x4 3/4" ones into it.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

, 71-72 c10s came with 5x5" disc brakes up front. if you want 5x4and3/4", it gets trickier. for 5 on 4 3/4", you can run your stock drum brake spindle, 1970-81 Chevelle rotors, 1969-72 Camaro Calipers, and all the wheel bearings from the chevelle as well. this will give you 5 on 4 3/4" bolt pattern. you will need to make a spacer that fits between the spindle and caliper. Classic Performance Parts in Anaheim, CA just came out with this kit with everything you need for only $375. heres the link,http://www.classicperform.com/Store/.../6370WBK-5.htm.

You can redrill rotors but you also need to turn down the center where the bearing goes or a car rim will not fit over it. And remember they wear out so your left to do this each time you replace one so a conversion is the better option. Even if you source the parts used . Alto in the long run the kit would be just as cheap and you get new parts. Just my 02 by the time i converted my front end with drop and all i wish i would have just went with a mustang 2 and rack caus it would not have been that much more it was 1200 at the time from nolimit

I would buy adapters if I just had to have the 4.75 pattern.

Could you use like '78 B-body rotors with the small pattern? Don't know about bearings or offsets, but some of the '77-'89(or so) B-bodies had a 5x4.75 pattern.

rob that's what I said I didn't want to do. Are you sure you have to turn down the hub to fit the car wheels.
I was thinking about redrilling the rotors but the truck is a drag truck and was worried about making them weak. Im not to worried about wearing down the rotors because I don't put many miles on it at all

Try 70's van 1/2 ton rotor. Pretty sure some of those had same bearings as truck but were 4 3/4 bolt pattern.

Vans are 5 on 4 3/4 but they are alot smaller than the c10 s . Maybe the could work on a drum spindle but i dont think so. Im pretty sure that car wheels wont fit over the hub, well atleast not the draglites.

Why so hell bent on the 4-3/4? Name what you think is a fair price for stock 72 C-10 spindles and their yours plus shipping...Add $100 and I'll throw in a 3:08 12 bolt with 5x5 drums and all...Chi-town aint that far away...come and get'em! "The Beers Cold!"

well as he stated he is a dragster, and probably wants to run drag style wheels like draglites, prostars, etc. and those wheels come in the standard ford/chevy car bolt patterns in many different sizes and backspaces. its near impossible to find a set in 5on5 pattern expecially not a skinny like he probably wants on front. my front ones are 5on5 15x8 and it took me for ever to find them. my backs are 15x12 5 on 4 3/4 with a 6.5 bs that way I could tuck a lot of meat with out narrowing the axles. if im guessing this is probably his motive. plus not every one can afford 2000 for the new age wheels. lol some just like old school hot rod

FWIW, I run Monocoques ( now Bogart ) and they make your rims to your specifications. I didn't spend very much more for custom wheels as opposed to the more production based ones that were the same quality level. Might have cost me another 100 bucks for all 4.

That is another option to look into, and yea, you aren't going to find too many drag inspired 5 X 5 wheels!

Ahhh "drag inspired"...That changes everything...Building a Street Drag Machine myself...Maybe having a machine shop turn down some C-10 spindles vs. custom rims? Me, I'm stickin with the readily available stock setup for obvious reasons http://youtu.be/zcPHHEea3lE

Re: Please someone!! 5 x 4 3/4 bolt pattern rotors????

If you re-drill the 5 on 5 rotors to 5 on 4.75 they will crack, it's been tried long time ago and they all cracked, even if you plug the holes.
