big block help

Hey guys I need some help, a friend of mine just got a blazer w/ a bb. It isn't installed yet and he's wondering what it is going to take to get it in there. I don't spend a lot of time in this forum so I figured I would ask the experts.
Thanks Ian

Re: big block help

If you change the transmission at the same time for a longer one, such as a 400 instead of a 350, you can move the engine forward. This will prevent having to modify the firewall, which is a lot more work as Yukon can tell you. If you add a longer trans, you can also leave the transfercase and transmission mount in the stock location, eliminating having to relocate more stuff and having to modify your driveshafts. Do a lot of research before hand, so you can decide what route you want to take, as far as modifications go. Go luck on your big block swap!

700r4 transmissions are also longer and you get 4 gears. If it were me I would leave the transfer case in stock location, use a 700 tranny, move the engine forward and put a spring lift on so the oil pan clears the front axle.
