Longer leaf spring shackles to lower 72 C10 anybody used these?

I want to lower my 72 C10 with rear leaf springs 4 inches. So, my plan is to use a 2 inch longer shackle and dearch the springs 2 inches. Does this longer shackle clear the box floor? Anybody have any experience, sujjestions and or input to keep me pointed in the right direction??

As bedseld71 said, the 2" shackle will not clear a wood floor but will work with a metal floor. Even with a metal floor, you may have to "adjust" the bed cross sill.

So...to make sure I understand this correctly, I will have to cut the cross member support for the box floor to clear the shackle for rearward movement. I really don't want to cut on the box. Is this the only method to lower this truck in the rear? I have looked for springs to get the total 4 inches and had no success............

If you have a metal floor, you could get a 1-1/2" shackle and have the springs de-arched 2-1/2". The amount of interference with a 2" shackle and the rear cross sill will be very minimal, if at all. I know when I did my '94 LWB, I had to "tweak" the cross-sill because it was just barely touching as the suspension moved up and down.

Thanks... Early Classic Enterprises has them for $59. Click on the link below, choose the "Suspension Components" category and they are on page 4.
