Need help dismantling spring hanger

1966 GMC Suburban 4WD

I'm having trouble removing the pin/ bolt from a frame bracket that connects the front leaf spring rear hanger to the frame. It looks to be threaded but can only get it to turn just a bit. I've used PB Blaster but have not tried heating it yet. Is it threaded or does it need to be pressed out? C catalog does not appear to show it being threaded. I would like to remove it before sandblasting the frame. Here are a couple of pictures.

Smile Re: Need help dismantling spring hanger

you need a good torch and heat the pi$$ out of the bracket and it should come out. if you're replacing the stud heat it up and smack it with a BFH.

+1 they can be a real pita, especially as these old beasts continue to age.

Re: Need help dismantling spring hanger

Thanks for the input. More PB Blaster, some heat and was able to unscrew them. Fine threads on outer ends with coarse threads in the middle.

Re: Need help dismantling spring hanger

I replaced the bushings also on my 59. I used a ball joint installer remover to push it all out. Your bushings are probably wore also.

I push later model rubber bushings out same way. No burning them out.
