Re: shipping

Yes. I shipped a tailgate from New Jersey to Florida and one from Florida to North Carolina using DHL. NJ to FL was $30.00 and FL to NC was $20.00.

Wrapped the in a Big LCD TV box I got from Circuit City, bubble wrapped and taped the hell out of it and called DHL. They picked it up at my front door for $4.00 more. Make sure you send it DHL Ground.

Re: shipping

Meathead,

I just measured my stepside tailgate. I oversized for packing material and used these figures.

54" long x 21" tall x 6" wide and plugged it into a DHL Quote from 37203 (a Nashville ZIP) to 79403 (the zip you provided) and it came back with less than $20.00 for ground and about 3-4 days to deliver.

As stated in my previous post they will pickup from your place for an extra $4.00.

Good Luck

Harry

Re: shipping

You have to watch DHL, they do not tell you they'll charge you oversize fee or handling fee in quotes. I've shipped a few with them and Fed Ex, two got damaged in shipping, I think it a 50/50 chance, you might tell the buyer that too. If it gets damaged the buyer has a choice to keep it or have them send it back to you and then you have to argue with them to get your money out of it. Its a pain in the butt and you usually are the one who ends up losing money. Good luck

Heavy items like that tend to get damaged easy no matter how good you pack it.....
