Re: Stock 42

I would also like to have power steering on a stock 3/4 ton 46. In your case finding a rotor/hub that fits on the stock front axle spindle may not exist.

Post Upgrade Front Brakes

The brakes on this rig are "Huck" (rhymes with 'suck' for good reason) and were used from 1937 through 1950 on passenger cars and 1/2 ton trucks so go find how they converted those and have at it .

IIRC you'll need to drill out and re tap one hole per spindle, back in the day we'd up grade to 1951 ~ 1967 Bendix drum brakes using stock 1/2 ton parts, it's pretty simple and you don't even need to change the master cylinder .

I have the entire front axle drum to drum from a 1959 3100 in my back yard ~ saved for just such a project that never occurred, it's for sale dirt cheap to anyone who needs it .

The axle & tie rods are bent, it's from an old farm truck that was Hot Rodded .
