↑ X2! especially the green! and what kind of prep work did you do before you sprayed it? and did you take the body panels off and do them individually or did you paint the whole truck at once? and how many coats?

Re: Rattle Can Paint jobs

About how many cans of paint does it take, to one coat on a swb? I'd like to have enough cans on hand to complete a whole coat with out having to stop half way trough and go back to the store for more.

Here's mine.... the truck still needs a lot of sheet metal replaced, but I wanted to clean it up and get it looking decent in the mean time.

Re: Rattle Can Paint jobs

on mine, i started to do body work to it (welded up the marker light holes and bed stake holes etc. etc.) then decided I wanted to be able to take it to some shows this summer so I just went ahead and thru the paint on it. I was already planning on doing it this way cause it's just supposed to be a beater/rat/whatever. Whole truck was taken to bare metal then sprayed with black rust inhibitor, then white primer, then finally satin green- no clear- top is gloss white - i still have rockers and cab corners and other parts to put on it, so paint will be coming back off at some point.

Looks good Joe. The details make it... like using ivory around the grille opening. Did you primer first and what brand paint did you use?

It had an old paint job that I sanded down then just sprayed on top. Krylon is my brand of choice Here is a picture of my brothers truck. (All rattle can) You can see my sub in the background. Sorry it's a pic of a pic but you get the idea. They don't call me Rattle Can Joe for nothing
