1967 Rearend

Hey Guy's i just aquired a rearend out of 1967 truck, 12 bolt, 3:73, and i started cleaning it up and noticed that the mounting brackets to the trailing arm's are about 3 inches further in (on each side) than the ones on my 62. My question is have you guys been relocating the mounts or just pulling the trailing arm's in to match the mounts? Thanks.....

I swapped in a 12 bolt 3.73 from a 72' and ran into the same issue. We carefully removed the old ones (Saddles), purchased new ones and reinstalled them in the correct location, adjusting for pinion angle etc since we were performing a 5" static drop in the rear.

I am looking at a 67 rear end too , I dont have to buy trailing arms doI ?

No, those on the rack are the stock ones, we cleaned up, fitted new bushings, and boxed and beefed up a bit before reinstallation.

hey guys, i'm new to the site, been lurking a while and like everyones work. I'm curious though, why is everyone switching to a 67 rear end?

I guess i'm the odd man out with a leafspring rear end.
Anyone know how easy is it to swap a leaf rearend from a 67-72?

I personally wanted a 12 bolt, 3.73 rear end, to go with the 350 (soon to be 383)/700r4 driveline setup we were installing. with the lower 1st & 2nd gears, and the OD, and discussing it with many, many mechanics and ol' hot rod/ol' school street drag racing guys this was one of the recommended setups. has provided me with good low gearing for off the line, and just under 2100RPM while cruising@ 70mph for better gas milage. Just my .02 worth.

I wouldn't think it would be any tougher than with a coil, do you still have trailing arms? I figure just adjusting the respective saddles accordingly?
