wanted 8000 RPM tach Lens pic

Anybody out there have a pic of a 8000 RPM lens. I'm looking to have a decal made up to replicate the #'s. Post the pic in this thread please.
Thanks, Michael

Yes it has an LS1 in it. However I do not have it running yet. I did help my friend with his LS3 install in his Camaro. He just added a resister to the circuit and his factory tachometer worked fine.

Re: wanted 8000 RPM tach Lens pic

Not yet pjmoreland. I got a lens off CarlsLQ9SS, but I'm not 100% thrilled with it now that it's in the truck. The diesel tach increments do not line up with the numbers, which sets my OCD into a frenzy lol. Also all the aftermarket lenses I have seen, the numbers and letters are thiner than the originals. Maybe once the truck goes away for the winter I will get a reverse decal made so I can paint the words and numbers on a new lens. Also I have a KPH Speedo so I would like to replicate the set up Member Chewy has with the Tach,Vac,KPH,Speed warning, adding the 8000 RPM Tachometer,

That looks sweet. I agree the aftermarket lenses just don't cut it . Some look blueish as well.

Re: wanted 8000 RPM tach Lens pic

I removed the 5k lens from my gauge cluster this evening and scanned it. I am working on tracing the outlines of the numbers and moving them to the correct locations for an 8k tach. I'm just going to do 0, 10, 20, 30, etc. around the outer perimeter because I think the smaller numbers in the inner circle look out of place compared to the original tach. I'm going to copy and shrink the 6, 7 and 8 characters from the speedometer. I also plan on tracing out the VACUUM label.

I finished tracing out the perimeters of the characters. The 6, 7 and 8 characters are copied from the speedometer. I used CAD software to set the spacing of the numbers. I still need to trace out VACUUM.

Re: wanted 8000 RPM tach Lens pic

I went to a printing shop here in town to ask them about printing the numbers on my gauge lens. They have a direct printer that should work. They showed me some samples, and it has super fine resolution. They can match the light green color of the original numbers, too. I emailed them the 8k tach numbers I drew up, so we will see what they say. I polished the stock markings off of two lenses I've got.

Re: wanted 8000 RPM tach Lens pic

An 8k tach I ordered arrived today. My layout for the numbers lines up well.

In my opinion, Counterpart did a lousy job of locating the tach numbers on their 8k lens, and the font is totally wrong.

I heard back from the print shop, and unfortunately their printer is down right now. They are estimating two weeks until it is repaired. I contacted another shop in a neighboring town, and theirs is down, too. I'm gonna keep looking.

That’s awesome what you did. I would purchase a template should you decide to share. I have a template of the KPH speedo I got off member 68 50th from Sweden that I would like to print up as well.
What you have done so far looks great!!!

I'm looking into getting the numbers printed directly onto the lens. How did 68 50th do it?

Mats had stickers made up that stuck to the inside the lens. White only.

Were the stickers white printed on a clear backing, or were they die-cut out of white vinyl?

Would she be interested in looking at my file to see if she'd want to make it?

I looked up cricut machines. Looks like they are somewhat affordable for home use.

She made the wording for all the signage for her wedding last weekend, and she made center cap decals for my truck. I will ask her if she’s interested. What type of file is it?
