Old window tint
What is the best way to remove old window tint so that I can have new put on.

I used a utility knife. One that has the long blades. I put it out all the way and bent it so it was parallel with the window and scraped of the tint. Once I got the tint off, I had to use some stuff to get the leftover stickum junk off. It takes a long time, but it works. If you aren't carful, it can scratch up the glass. I used some kind of degreaser/cleaner for when you paint to get the stickum junk off. Good luck

use a one sided razor blade and lots of window cleaner.

go to paint supply store and ask for decal remover. comes in aerosol can, or buy some household ammonia, heat up the glass in the sun or with a heat or blowdryer then scrape it off witha box cutter blade. i clamp the blade with some vise-grips as a holding tool.

I just removed mine with a hairdryer and a razor blade scraper. The hairdryer was the key. Once I got all of the film off, I squirted it down with windex, and used the scraper again. The glue came off really easy.

Or try going to your local parts store.. they have stuff in a spray bottle just for removing window tint did my truck with it works great... just pull tint off the glue thats left... just spray this stuff on it almosts wipes off...

I did this a week or two ago. Bought a razor scraper and then just sprayed on windex and scrapped it right off. Went back and sprayed lots of windex and scraped glue right off. Used a new blade for each window. Took about ten minutes a window to do mine.

Pull off old tint. Spray it down with 409. Wait 15 minutes. Spray a little bit more and scrape with a razor.
