Re: 86 c10 yes or no to control arms
you wont lay rocker with control arms and spindles, you dont need control arms but if you can afford them I would get them, It will save you money on new tires all the time and take a lot of pressure off of your ball joints.....but your rocker will sit about 2 inchs off the ground cause you frame sits lower than your body, and it might lean a little to the passenger side cause of the trans crossmember.....and i would put spindles on it

wow that's a tall order. IMO, drop spindles and control arms would be a starting point, followed by heavy frame and crossmember modification/ replacement.

Re: 86 c10 yes or no to control arms
yeah and somewhere in the suburban/blazer forums i saw where they are taking the factory crossmember and taking some height from it, but doing it all with the engine in the truck. might try this too soon, as i willl have a lowered ride height for way cheaper.
heres the linky to the thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=380588 |

Thats y i am thinking of running a 4:10 with a 27-28 inch tall tire.
instead of a 4.56 gear with a 29-30" tall tire |

im running 4.10 gear with a 28" tall tire right now (275/60-15) and it is only nice to clown around town, excellent acceleration. But on the highway, if I go over 50 its screaming bloody murder and if keep my eye on the gas guage, you can actually watch it "tick" backwards like a clock does.im going to 2.73 and 295/50's soon |
