What's it worth?

Have a chance to pickup another AD pickup. It's local & I took a look at. Looks good, needs a few things. Ebay add is real honest. Thing is I have no idea what it is worth.

What do you guys think?
What would a good price be?

Re: What's it worth?

A way to figure out how much its worth is. How much do you think it would cost to fix it that way? Factor in the cost of parts and labor, and the truck itself.
Cost of an AD truck ? 2500 just sitting not running? All the frame work? 3000? Engine and trans? 7000? Paint job? 7000? Interior? 3000? Bed ? 2000? Tires wheels? 2000?
Just add it all up.

Re: What's it worth?

I'd say no more than $18,000 cash.
Looks like a nice older resto-mod that needs some repair/freshening up.
You would still end up putting in $5000 for bodywork and paint as well as the stereo system, the bed wood, general repairs etc.
Then theres the new LS engine and overdrive transmission to save on gas! Looks like a money pit to me!

Re: What's it worth?

I was thinking in the same line as Atomsplitter somewhere between 15 and 18 K is what it is actually worth from what I see. That isn't saying some guy who has a wad of cash won't cough up 25 k to buy it though.

A 12 year or so build that needs some love to make it a great truck again including getting the cab and bed aligned right so it doesn't look like it's sagging in the middle. No big things that I can see and not too much that adds a lot to the asking price but may not be everyone's cup of tea. In other words you have to really like the look and be in love with it the way it is to pay a premium price for it. 18K and another 500 to put it in shape to be a fantastic daily/cruiser and big grins going down the street.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: What's it worth?

In late, but is one you would spend a lot of time apoligizing for the previous inattention to detail and end up spending way too much to fix. I see paint, and probably rust problems underneath that were not addressed the first time. Definately one to look at in person and crawl under, they way the cab and bed fit something is not right with the suspension work that was done, or (yikes) rusted frame that is compromised.

Re: What's it worth?

It rather looks to be an LA lowrider that while having everything that you can take off and a few things that normally don't get taken off chromed and looking fantastic they may not have paid enough attention to potential bad spots on the body or body mounts. I fully believe that the sagging body or bed is due to worn out mounts and little else but the blisters in the paint may be due to holes for mirrors or something that were filled with bondo rather than welding them shut and doing it right or brazed with brass and having a bit of acid blistering the paint years later. Not big things if it were a 9000 dollar truck but big things at the asking price.
I'd sure want to look it over top and bottom though and I'd take the worst nitpicker I knew along with me for a second set of eyes.

Re: What's it worth?

Orrie said it perfectly. I think he should have taken the top bid of $19,300 and been happy to get that much for it.
