need help removing

hey guys, i need to completly remove all the inside of the tail light assembly, where the tail light bolts in, everything has to go. how can i do this? is it all bolted in there or do i need to use force to remove them?

the tail lights back should unscrew with the lens on the fleetside if memory serves correct

yea i got that part, i need to take out the metal that the screws screw into.

I think there are a few torx screws and then the assembly pulls out?

that was what i was thinkin, i just need them completly out of the way. there r bolts at the bottom part, but i cant get to the top if there is any. i might just have to cut it all out.

You shouldnt have to cut anything out. the whole light comes out??? maybe a pic will help show what the problem is.

heres a pic, i need all the metal that is inside the stock tail llight hole to be gone. i can get another pic if needed

Yeah your gonna wanna cut that mounting piece on the hinge side of the bed and what ever structure is behind it may have to be cut or beaten back to allow for the depth of the caddy light to sit back and be flush on the surface. Before you get too sawzall happy on the openings for the light you might want to consider tacking in your tail light filler panel especially on the hinge side cause once you start cutting that structure there, you may find difficulty in reforming that edge not much clamping surface there... i haven't seen a posting on the whole process of doing this... might be interesting if your willing to share! I never considered there to be a clearance issue in that area!
