Noisy Hood

For the hood in a 68 is there something like padding that would go on it to keep it from being so noisy when closed?

Thanks

when i had an old buick the hood used to squeak cause the rubber bushings that hold the hood in adjustment had shined up and the hood squeaked like hell all i did was adjust em up a little and then i sanded the top to get the shine off with emery cloth

There are pads that go between the hood braces and the sheet metal to reduce vibration and noise. Most aftermarket dealers have them or you could use insulation material---polyfoam etc. None of the hoods had heat insulation covering the sheetmetal. You could put some spray undercoating on the sheetmetal wich I've seen done.
