Backyard Barn Find

Well kind of a barn find. It's been in my little barn for over a year. It actually sat in a warehouse I had for 10 years. I moved it from VA to NC last year. The fuel pump went out so I put a new one on this past weekend and fired it up. It the first time it has run in over 10 years. It felt good to drive it around. Now it's time to make it drivable again. It's amazing how life can get in the way of projects.

Nice truck as it is- from here, the before pics look like Forest Service green but in the after pics it almost seems light blue. What do you have planned?

Thanks! I've had it for 15 years and it has just been in storage. Any modifications done to it were probably back in the 90's. Mine plan is to just go thru it and see what needs to be replaced to get it road worthy. I love the look so no plans to ever change that.

Re: Backyard Barn Find

I guess you mean go over the brakes, steering, lights, and other mechanicals. Good idea. Better than jump in and go. Is it GM Light Green (503)?

That's exactly what I mean. I know it needs shocks. The bushings have deteriated out. I want to change all the fluids. Check the brakes and steering. Ineed to put a new wiring harness in it. Most of the original is gone and has been rewired with inline fuses. It functions but is scary!

The color is light green (503)

Re: Backyard Barn Find

Oh man, I wish you were closer! That checks so many of my personal boxes: 67/68, step side, and 4x4!

My motto is you don't have to get it perfect, you just have to get it running. I know I sure enjoy driving my multi colored truck a lot.

Good plan. You'll really enjoy it better for that. I'm sure you'll enjoy going through it making it better with each step, then really enjoy a nice driving great truck that you don't fight to keep on the road or worry about stopping.
