Gmc v3500

Looking for some good reference pics of a 91 GMC V3500. I see a few on here but they are all Chevys.

Re: Gmc v3500

I guess mine should look like the blue one above with the single headlights. Is there a way to tell which one it should have by the codes in the glove box or the vin?

RPO V22 is the deluxe grille that is the chrome one with the H4701/H4703 side-by-side halogens. Without that RPO would be the single 5x7 halogen. That is for 89-91, if your V35 is 87-88 then it would have the stacked dual 4x6 halogen headlights, RPO V22 still applies.

Re: Gmc v3500

Well I found the grille, L and R buckets and the complete radiator support off a suburban. I hope your right about the RPO code. Where can I decipher the rest of them?

Re: Gmc v3500

If you've got a parts guy at a dealership who isn't a lazy bum he can enter your vin and print a list off the Roos with descriptions in 2-3 minutes.

Was the wiring harness available for the 89-91 front end? It isn't necessary but it makes life easier.

Re: Gmc v3500

The RPOs are common whether the truck is a Chevy or GMC:

http://www.73-87.com/chevy_ids/rpomenu2.htm

A GMC pickup is a GM truck with RPO Z88 "Nameplate conversion" added.

RPO X88 is what drives the Chevrolet nameplate.

Re: Gmc v3500

Thanks for the advice, I ended up searching here paid CompNine $5 and printed out the whole list of RPOs with definitions. Meanwhile I continue to install the correct grille. The core support is mostly in but I was having trouble lining the passenger side fender up and found this gem. The grille I picked up is a little faded on the black areas, any recommendation on what paint to use?

Re: Gmc v3500

Looking good. What headlights did you use? Halogens or the LMC lenses?

Re: Gmc v3500

Halogens from Napa and some new turn signal lenses from Rock Auto.
