Vibration
Gents,
I have a slight vibration when I am traveling between 50 and 60 mph. I feel it all over pedal and steering wheel. Its seems to be also shaking the whole car. Could this be a issue with the 5.3 LS swap I have on the truck. Meaning could this be a issue with the cross member or motor mounts? Last edited by C10CONFUSED82; 12-19-2015 at 07:54 PM. More than likely it's something in the drive line, such as as a slightly bent or out-of-balance drive shaft, or maybe an improperly installed u-joint.
Is it RPM or road speed related? In other words, does it vibrate at 50-60 even in a lower gear?

Not sure, I have not noticed it at lower RPMs but it does go away when I go faster.

Front wheel not balanced or loose lug nuts? Separating rubber on a tire?
I have had a wheel weight fly off and cause the same vibrations. Good luck!

make sure the front end is tight and make sure you tightened up all the motor and trans mounts

I also have an LS swap and have a bad vibrations that starts about 45 mph and stays at any speed above it. I have tried many things. I have a new drive-shaft, new rotors and pads, new alignment,, new axles, seals and bearing, new tie-rods, etc. and still have the vibration. If the vehicle is in park or neutral and I rev the engine there is no vibration. The only think I can think of now is the transmission angle is too much. I bought a high hump trans cover that I will be installing along with a new trans cross member which I will install next week to see if this takes care of the issue. If it doesn't than I am at a loss. I is driving me nuts and makes the truck no fun to drive.

Have you checked your driveline inclination? That's where the trans. output shaft angle should be within 3*-5* of the differential pinion angle (opinions vary on the degree but it's usually within that parameter). It's easy to find, using a simple and inexpensive angle finder bought at the local hardware store or big box outlet (Lowes/Home Depot)

c10confused sounds like a wheel balance issue. I have never had a perfect balance so I never expect it. Mine will vibrate around 62 mph and goes away completely at 65 mph. Houston Ben sounds like he has an annoying driveling angle problem. That will take some work.

Do you have a two piece drive shaft? Had a similar problem with a truck a picked up a few years ago. Turns out the previous owner replaced the ujoints. When he reassembled, the weights on the front section and rear section were opposing, causing the vibration. The weights on both front/rear must be on the same side. I would have NEVER figured this out.... an old Mechanic buddy of mine "clued" me in....
