Christmas Pics and some progress notes

We got my dad a digital camera for christmas so of course all day during the family thing he did nothing but take pictures. Here's five of the truck.

You don't really realize the progress you make on something until you step back and look at the big picture. Compare those pictures to this one from right when I took over driving it.

BTW: Yes, the tint on the vent windows is darker than the regular windows... I failed inspection so I put 50% on the big part... and left the 35% on the vent windows

I found out what my graduation gift is... you guys and gals will love this. Longblock 305, new accessories (P/S, A/C, etc), intake + carb, and a TH350. So for the next six months I'm working on saving up for and ordering the lil' body parts I need (AKA a new bed, basically) so I can drop the new driveline into it in May / June, get it painted during the summer.

I hope everyone and their peoples have a good holidays and that everyone be thankful for what they have. I know I am.

Re: Christmas Pics and some progress notes

Yeah included in the "miscelaneous body parts" I'm getting chrome regular bumpers. That old utility bumper Southern Chevrolet put on it new sure has seen some stuff, that's for sure. I painted it silver about a year and a half ago.

There's sites on the internet that sell remanufactured motors (I think Greenwood is one) and since that 305 never did me wrong, no point wasting money on something different if I don't need something different. It's just tired. Poor thing *pats*

Re: Christmas Pics and some progress notes

Nice progress pics. I would personally go with a 350, prolly not any more expensive, same gas mileage, drops in place of the 305, and makes the truck a whole lot more fun to drive.

Re: Christmas Pics and some progress notes

Well everyone and his/her momma (literrally) has a 350, I'd rather be different, and a longblock 305 is about 1100 then subtract the 200 for my core, so that's 900. Not to mention it would keep the numbers all matching since it did come with the 305. It's kinda like the people doing the turbocharged six. It's different.

AAAAND since my parents are buying it for me as a gift, I'm not gonna complain on what they want to get me.

However, I will price a crate and longblock 350....
