1977 c35 Crew Cab LS convertion

Hi, I'm new to the forum but not a rookie. I thought I would share the build of my shop truck. I bought Lowered without the semi rims and intierior. The truck used to have a 350sbc with a sm465 4 speed transmission. I'm now in the process of swapping to a L92 6.2L LS engine (2009 Escalade engine) backed by an 4L80E.

That'd be a nice transplant for my crew as well. I'm in for the outcome.

Re: 1977 c35 Crew Cab LS convertion

Thanks for the complements, the swap is going very smoothly other than waiting on parts to show up (story of my life!). I built the exhaust with the last motor but to support this motor and long tube headers. I built it out of entirely left over bends and straits I had around form previous jobs. lol

Re: 1977 c35 Crew Cab LS convertion

It should run really strong! I do a lot of the L92's in muscle cars but usually delete the VVT. In this case I want to keep it for the fuel mileage and I might put a pair of turbos on it later so I can really tune it with the VVT. I tig welded the original steering box side of the power steering box to the L92 side of the power steering line as you can see here....

Very nice truck! It definitely looks sweet with the semi wheels! The new power plant should be sweet too!

Re: 1977 c35 Crew Cab LS convertion

Here's a shot of the exhaust done on the old engine.

Still waiting on parts but until then Here's a another truck I'm building for a customer. I'll start a thread once I get cooking on it again

And a buddy's truck we've been toying with for a while. LS6 with AFR heads cam and T56 super sleeper!

Swap complete other than replacing the inner trans harness. I even got the AC hooked up and charged as AC is a must in Florida.

Dam that was fast, one perk about being a shop owner.

Are you running inner fenders with those wheels and drop?

Re: 1977 c35 Crew Cab LS convertion

Thanks, It's been the easiest swap I've done to date. The truck runs accuride inner rims that have been faced to bring the outer in a little closer and its also more narrow so I don't have any clearance issues on the inner wheel house. The outer and fronts are alcoa's

Re: 1977 c35 Crew Cab LS convertion

It doesn't have inner fenders yet but I have a brand new set I will be trying. If those don't fit I will make a set out of sheet metal.

Screw it, I uploaded it to youtube. I'll get some burnout videos done when I get the transmission retuned. Here's the link.....
