Window Trim and U joint questions
Is the 71-72 front window bright molding the shallow or deep trim?
Is the rear window bright molding all the same? Anyone know what u joint is correct off hand for a 72 1/2t 2wd with 12 bolt and turbo 400? A precision number would be great, because I need to know what the diameter of the cap is. thanks for the help, Doug

Re: Window Trim and U joint questions
why on earth would you ever want to put a precision ujoint in anything?! They are junk right out of the box, but they do have a lifetime warranty lol. 5-1310 is the spicer part number for a 1310 series non greasable ujoint. Or neapco 10153hd if you want to grease your ujoints and sling grease all over the bottom of your truck.

Re: Window Trim and U joint questions
Just a heads up for you guys...the shallow system is junk (from LMC anyway). I had the best glass guy around install mine, it took him hours and it kept popping out, still isn't right. Go with the deep system if you can, vinyl and trim. It should work on all our trucks and save you a huge headache.
BTW I work at a glass company.

Re: Window Trim and U joint questions
well precision is what my local parts store sells and I have never had an issue with them. And thanks for the info reno, its a little late now, ordered the trim long ago and it goes in for glass wednesday. I'll keep that in mind for future reference though.

Re: Window Trim and U joint questions
I have to deal with precision joins on a weekly basis, its very rare for them to not have at least .020" endplay when properly installed and will not ballance. If it's no something youre picky about you won't notice much, just go through carrier bearings and tailshaft bushings faster.
