bellflowers and shaved tailgate

I just got the bell flowers put on. I dig these things ,and they sound sweet.
I also shaved the tailgate chains , and installed a "el cheepo" latch set up.
So I guess my truck will be called project "EL CHEEPO"

Re: bellflowers and shaved tailgate

I was thinking of the seatbelt option but I cant figure how they mounted the latch part onto the tailgate. I can see the push button buckle part, but not where the clip thing would go onto the tailgate. Seems like if it mounts on the side the stake gets in the way???

Anyone know please let me know.

By the way.. the option you choose looks fine!

Re: bellflowers and shaved tailgate

thanks John. I got my garage door from Campbel overhead, they used to be a customer of ours when I worked at ATD.
You work off of Dela cruz right? Maybe I'll drop by some time.
Hewlett200200: copy away !! Install was easy : I marked the location, drilled pilot holes and used some self taping screws. on the bed side I used a step drill to make the hole for the slide. I also used some selfstick weather striping foam to "snug" the tailgate, so as not to rattle.
The lathes are padlockable springbolts made by stanley part # 81-9045
The knob has to be pressed in to slide it back. I got them at Home depot a while back for a gate, but never used them I think they cost about 11.00 each.thanks Rojoloco

Hey Chief! Hows it going ? No I cant remeber the name of the installer.
ATD is American Tire Distributors, ( not American Tire co.) It used to be CPW . They used to own Speed Merchants That is how I know Rich.
