Rear Drum Brake Advice Needed

OK, I have a 71 GMC 3/4 ton 4X4 and wanted to know what drums would interchange with the truck. I went to the interchange bible ((Chevrolet Pickup Parts INTerchange Manual by Paul Herd) and I found out that 1971 rear drum brakes were only made for that year. I have a part number, is there another way to go when It comes time to replace my rear drums?
Part #3996637

Re: Rear Drum Brake Advice Needed

If its for the 71 GMC 3/4 ton, your rear end is probably a dana 60, not the h052 as installed on Chevy's. If so, you may not even be looking for the correct drum given you reference the Chevrolet Parts Interchange. Good news, if it is a dana 60, parts are much easier to come by.

Convert it over to rear disk. Very easy to do. If you want more info let me know
