front drop dont look right?

I installed ece 4/6 drop and the back looks great but the front still looks like 3 inches high. Do the coils have to be in a certain way, or did i forget to line something up or what?

Re: front drop dont look right?

well I dont have a camera right now. But I know somethings not right looking at other trucks with this drop. It still looks almost stock up front I know the spindles and springs are right because I compared them up to my old ones. Its like they didnt set in there right or something.

Re: front drop dont look right?

Many with a 4" front drop have a combination of a 2 1/2" drop spindles with drop springs...I think. I will let others chime in.

Re: front drop dont look right?

might be that the spring isn't seated into the pocket on the lower A-arm or in the crossmember. Or, maybe it needs to settle...have seen them settle an inch or more after driving a bit...

last....just making sure...is the drivetrain all in (engine/tranny)

Re: front drop dont look right?

You can't go by just setting it on the ground. It has to be moved back a forth a little.

Re: front drop dont look right?

Yes the truck is fully weighted. I think they are not seated right. I guess my question is do I need to pull it apart and try to put the springs in different of will they seat there selfs once I get the truck running? Does the moving it back and forth a little seat them?

Re: front drop dont look right?

Take it back apart and check that the top of the spring is "clocked" correctly in the upper spring pocket.
You have to lay on your back and look up in the spring pocket to line them up.
Did you by chance install them upside down?

Re: front drop dont look right?

No there not upside down. Ill just take it back apart and see about the spring pocket. I remember seeing the spring pockets but maybe I didnt line them up just perfect. Its weird that both sides are like that though.

Is it possible for you to borrow a camera cause you will definately get an answer to your question that way. Hope you can figure it out.

Re: front drop dont look right?

If they're seated correctly, they will settle from driving. That is what is meant by moving back and forth.

Re: front drop dont look right?

I was able to rotate my 2" springs with everything together and the front end off the ground. Iused my cell camera to make sure the.springs were seated.....a 4" drop will be pretty noticeable ..lol

Re: front drop dont look right?

on your lower a arms there are seats that the springs sit in u have to make sure that the springs sit in the spots however it's ironic that both sides are even so there may potentially be something else wrong.
